HAMPTONS ESTATE
NEW YORK

This expansive luxury estate, nestled in a small hamlet in the Hamptons, was formerly a hunting lodge and then private residence built by Alonzo Reed in the 1890’s. The stunning property includes a 9500+sf main house, guest house, pool house, lighthouse, boat house and the sprawling, beautifully landscaped 7 acres, complete with a Zen garden, tennis courts and pool. The idyllic setting to connect to nature and a slower pace of life with plenty of space to host friends and family, all while being less than an hour from Manhattan.

It was a fast-paced, all-hands-on-deck project when these clients called on Eden and her team once again after recently completing their San Francisco residence in Russian Hill. They purchased the house in March with a private offer and didn’t close until the end of April and wanted the house move-in ready by May for Memorial Day weekend guests. No pressure! “We ended up having most of the project designed before they closed.”

The clients wanted an informal relaxed feel, that had all amenities but without any of the fuss or anything too precious: a house to be lived in and loved. Since we had to get it completed fast, we did a mix of stocked essentials and custom pieces. Months later, we ended up integrating many of the furnishings and art from their San Francisco home (Russian Hill Residence). Luckily, for the most part, they fit in seamlessly.
